Carlos Adames is scheduled to defend his WBC World Middleweight Title against Austin Williams on Saturday, as fans picked their winner. 

Adames has established himself as the division’s powerhouse since being elevated to full champion in May 2024. Adames has logged two successful defenses so far. He secured a comprehensive points win over Terrell Gausha in June 2024 before engaging in a grueling, contentious split draw against Hamzah Sheeraz in February 2025.

Williams enters the ring as the WBC’s #3-ranked contender. The 29-year-old southpaw has shown remarkable resilience since suffering his lone professional setback—a TKO loss to Hamzah Sheeraz in June 2024. Williams has strung together four consecutive victories over the last 14 months, including a dominant win over Patrice Volny and a unanimous decision over Wendy Toussaint on January 31, 2026.
