Fans Predict Johnny Walker Vs. Zhang Mingyang – ‘He Will Be Going To The Cemetery'
Light heavyweights Johnny Walker and Zhang Mingyang are set to face off in the main event at UFC Shanghai on August 23, as insiders gave their predictions.
Walker has struggled recently for form, failing to secure a win in his last three bouts. His record includes a no-contest against Magomed Ankalaev in October 2023, a second-round knockout loss in their rematch in January 2024, and a first-round stoppage loss to Volkan Oezdemir.
In contrast, Zhang has won three on the spin since making his UFC debut in February 2024. He stopped Brendson Ribeiro in the first round, followed by the further stoppages in the same manner against Ozzy Diaz and Anthony Smith, respectively.
Pre-Fight
"The division is very interesting because a few guys have potential to be champion. This is very interesting because it makes everybody excited to keep moving forward, always getting the challenge, and try to get the belt. I have a few guys here that believe they’re going to be the champion. They don’t just believe. They actually have a big chance to become champion. That’s exciting because you don’t even know by the end of the year who’s going to be holding that belt, so that’s what’s exciting about this division because anyone has the chance," Walker said
