Fans Predict Paulo Costa vs. Roman Kopylov – ‘Got Him By KO'
Fans gave their picks for Paulo Costa vs. Roman Kopylov, which takes place on the Max Holloway vs. Dustin Poirier card at UFC 318.
Costa enters the fight on a two-fight losing streak. Decision losses to Sean Strickland and Robert Whittaker meant Costa only has one win in his last four fights. His last victory took place against Luke Rockhold in 2022 at UFC 278. Meanwhile, Kopylov arrives in the fight in an impressive run of form. He stopped Chris Curtis in his last fight via a head-kick knockout. The win allowed him to bounce back from the submission loss to Anthony Hernandez. Kopylov also secured a win against César Almeida before the Curtis win. Here is how fans saw the fight playing out.
Pre-Fight
"This fight is going to be short, not 15 minutes, no way. Maybe two rounds, maybe in the first round. I think this is going to be a good collision, two guys looking for a finish. I will be there to finish this fight since the very first minute. This is a very important [fight] for me. This is a great matchup. He is a striker and he’s southpaw. I know how to fight against southpaws. I know he’s dangerous. He has good kicks and a good straight left hand, but I’m very prepared for that. I’m excited and happy for this fight. I think he can bring a great fight for me and him, of course. For everyone, for the audience," Costa stated
"I’m very happy to fight against such an opponent as Paulo. This is a big name, this is a huge opportunity for me, a co-main event,” Kopylov said during this week’s media day, speaking with outlets including Cageside Press. I’m excited, I’m ready, and this is a chance for me to show what I can do. It’s a huge honor to me, I’m very thankful… I’ll make sure to try and answer their trust and do whatever I can to show a great fight to fans," Kopylov said
