Gabriela Fundora vs Alexas Kubicki: Preview & Betting Tips
The spotlight falls on the women’s flyweight division this Saturday night as Gabriela Fundora defends her undisputed championship against late replacement Alexas Kubicki.
Fundora enters the ring with a flawless record (16-0, 8 KO’s) and she has already shown herself to be a special fighter. With her height, reach, and technical foundations, she uses her stiff jab and one-two combination and steady body work to break opponents down.
Kubicki (13-1, 2 KO’s) comes into the fight with just a single loss on her record. Her style is much different to Fundora’s. Rather than pressuring and being an offensive-minded fighter, she relies on movement, sharp counters, and a good defence.

Gabriela Fundora vs Alexas Kubicki: Analysis
What makes Fundora dangerous is not just her raw knockout power, but it’s her ability to apply intelligent pressure. She is patient, methodical, and has the stamina to keep the pace high for the full duration of a fight. Once she establishes her rhythm, she rarely lets her opponents off the hook.
Kubicki doesn’t have knockout power, but she’s very skilled at making opponents miss and then scoring with quick counters. Her success against Fundora will hinge on whether she can stick to a disciplined game plan, boxing off the back foot and refusing to get lured into exchanges where Fundora’s volume and pressure can overwhelm her.
The champion doesn’t need to rush her work. Her patient style almost guarantees opportunities will appear in the middle and later rounds, and it’s all about breaking down the challenger and eventually her resistance will deplete.
While Kubicki is a good defensive fighter, her defence will be fully tested on Saturday because Fundora will make her think and make her work at every second of each round. She’s also a master of cutting off the ring, and with Kubicki not posing a knockout threat, there is very little to deter Fundora from walking her down all night.
Fundora vs Kubicki: Prediction & Betting Tips
Kubicki is very talented herself, so I expect her to start off sharp and pick her shots on the back foot. But I struggle to see how she can pose a big enough threat to Fundora.
The challenger will need to be elusive for the full duration of the fight because she doesn’t have the power to stop the defending champion from walking forward and backing her up against the ropes and into corners.
Taking everything into account, I believe Kubicki will start to get picked off midway through the fight and Fundora will eventually land something significant in the back end of the fight which will force the referee or her own corner to intervene.
My pick is Gabriela Fundora to win in rounds 6-10 at odds of 2.88 (Sky Bet).
