Nate Diaz Declined McGregor Trilogy

Nate Diaz revealed that he declined a UFC offer because it was contingent on a trilogy bout with Conor McGregor.

Diaz, who inspired the creation of the BMF Title in 2019, wants to reclaim what he considers "his" belt. Charles Oliveira, who became the fourth BMF champion in history by defeating Max Holloway at UFC 326 in early March 2026, holds the belt. 

Before any potential UFC return, Diaz must first handle business in his first professional MMA appearance since submitting Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in 2022. Diaz will face Mike Perry on May 16 on  the Ronda Rousey vs. Gina Carano card.  Diaz expressed more enthusiasm for facing Perry, the current "King of Violence" in bare-knuckle boxing, than he did for the McGregor trilogy.

You’re rocking my belt now and you’re running around like you’re the baddest motherf*cker, so that’s where I’m like, what’s popping with the UFC, let’s link up and get this fight popping. I go back to talk to them about it and they’re all ready for me to come back and fight Conor. I’m like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, listen to what I’m talking about,” Diaz said
