UFC 319 – King Green vs Diego Ferreira: Preview & Betting Tips
King Green steps into the Octagon against Diego Ferreira this weekend at UFC 319 in a lightweight showdown in Chicago.
Green (32-17-1, 1 NC) has carved out a long and respected career in the UFC. But make no mistake, the American has absorbed huge amounts of damage over the years, with multiple brutal knockouts raising questions about his durability at this stage.
Ferreira’s (19-6) form points towards him being the fresher, more dangerous man. He’s been more clinical and hasn’t shown the same durability decline. However, he’s only won two in his last six, so another win here is certainly needed in order to keep him somewhat relevant in the UFC’s 155-pounds division.

King Green vs Diego Ferreira: Analysis

Green’s rhythm-based boxing style often frustrates opponents, while his cage IQ gives him a mental edge in pacing and fight management. He’s been the more active fighter in recent years, which could mean better timing and sharpness… or simply more accumulated wear and tear.
Ferreira brings a well-rounded skill set, but his real danger comes from his finishing instincts, particularly on the mat. A high-level grappler with increasingly sharp striking, “CDF” can threaten opponents from anywhere, and unlike Green, he’s generally only lost to elite-level competition.
The American has fought almost everyone in the division, from rising prospects to former champions. His jab, quick combinations, and veteran cagecraft allow him to dictate range, but his inability to discourage opponents with power shots means pressure fighters often find success over time. And this is where he could come unstuck against Ferreira.
Green vs Ferreira: Prediction & Betting Tips
I expect Green to start the fight off with his volume and movement, perhaps even out-landing Ferreira early. But once Ferreira closes distance and finds his rhythm, his sharper, heavier shots will start cracking through.
Despite CDF being the older fighter by a couple of years, I thoroughly expect his durability and endurance to be better than Green’s at this stage of their careers. But one clean connection from either man could swing the fight, especially given how both men have tasted KO losses in the last three or four years.
If it hits the mat, Ferreira’s grappling advantage could produce a quick finish, just like how Paddy Pimblett submitted Green in the first round via a triangle choke.
I’m not willing to trust either man with my money at this point. Instead, I’m taking the fight to finish in under 2.5 rounds at odds of 1.85 (William Hill).
