Jermall Charlo has had a huge dig at Caleb Plant following his victory over Jose Benavidez Jr.

Charlo was having his first fight in the sport after more than two years out of the ring with mental health issues. Prior to the fight, however, Charlo did not have the best preparation. The boxer failed to make weight for his fight at 163 pounds.

The American stepped on the scales at 164.4 pounds, after which he returned to weigh in heavier at 164.6 pounds. Therefore, there were major question marks over Charlo’s mentality heading into the fight. And yet, the American dispelled those doubts with a dominant performance to win by a unanimous decision.

And it just so happened that Caleb Plant was in attendance. The pair have a lot of bad blood ever since Plant hit out at Charlo following the Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford weigh-in. In the clip below, Plant can be seen taking a swing at Charlo as both men were then separated by security. ‘Sweethands’ later explained that Charlo had been disrespecting him in front of his wife, which included pulling his beard as he responded.

"You know, grown man touch another grown man in his face, pulling on his beard real hard, and you know, I’ve got the decency to tell you not to do that again and I don’t smash on you right there. I got enough decency to tell you not to do that again.

“I got my wife standing right behind me and I’m in a room full of my peers. I mean, what do you do? You’re making it real hard on a guy. You’re really putting his back to the wall, when you start doing all that sh!t, you know, in front of my wife and everybody in the room," Plant said

That has naturally led to suggestions that the pair could face each other in the ring. While Charlo did have his eyes on that fight, he also took time to mock Plant for the fact he had no belt unlike his WBC middleweight title.

"Yeah, for sure [I want that fight]. The whole world can come out and watch Plant fight when I get a chance to do that. He’s lucky tonight that I didn’t go down there and slap his b* a. He’s Struggling Now, He Won’t Have A Belt. I’m not mad at that. I’m going to get it the right way and make these millions.

"We’re not worried about none of that. Talk to me about some old s***. It’s stale. We want something new. Who got the belts? He don’t got no belt. He’s struggling right now. I’m not worried about him. I’m still on top. We good. I’m still going. They can’t wait for me to fight again. As long as we keep it like that, we’re alright," Charlo stated
